Necelle Gual

Necelle Mae Gual, 20 y/o Setter for the UPHSD Lady Altas

When did you start playing volleyball?
I started playing volleyball since I was 1st year highshool at San Isidro Catholic School sa Pasay.

What inspired you to play volleyball?
Nainggit lang ako maglaro sa ibang tao, tapos tinry ko lang syang gawin, tapos yun, hanggang sa nagustuhan ko na din, ngayon ito na rin sport ko.

What is the most difficult part of being a setter?
Siguro when you start playing as a setter, dapat kilala mo yung mga spikers mo, kung ano yung gusto nilang paluin. Yun yung mahirap at first then second is yung pano ka when in game, how you play, how you deliver the ball properly and how you execute the play.

What is your favorite thing about being a setter?
Yung pag nanalo ka, parang its credited to you kasi you’re the setter of the team. Parang ikaw yung nagha-handle, nagdadala dun sa team.

Who is your volleyball idol?

Ang idol ko talaga is si Jia Morado. Siya talaga idol ko since then.

What is your best advice for new volleyball players?
Don’t stop, tapos trust the process. Lahat ng pinaghihirapan, magbubunga ng maganda.

What is the most challenging part of being a student athlete?

What is your favorite class?
Mga major subject ko as a Psychology student.

Where is your favorite place to relax?
Actually ang gusto ko talaga is mga dagat, pero wala kasi dito sa Manila so siguro mga cafe na lang.

What is your favorite food?
Seafoods, i like seafoods kahit highblood ako. Haha.
